Greetings OpenHW PMC.
I'm excited to announce that the EMO has been asked to create a new project,
CORE-V CVA6.
This new project isn't actually new. Rather, it is a piece of the existing OpenHW CORE-V Cores project that we're going to carve out into its own separate Eclipse open source project.
This new project will take responsibility for a subset of the CORE-V Cores GitHub projects, and have a subset of the CORE-V Cores committers as its team of committers and project leads.
Since we're refactoring an existing Eclipse open source project, we're initiating a
restructuring review per the Eclipse Foundation Development Process. We seek your public approval to proceed. As this is the first such request that we've made in a long time, I'll use this opportunity to remind you that we are asking you to review the scope of this project proposal, confirm that it falls within the mission and scope of the top-level project (per the
charter), and base your approval on that. Your public approval will demonstrate your acceptance of the project to your community.
We'll also use this message as a notification of the change to the community and hereby invite folks to express any concerns or questions that they might have by responding to this thread.
This restructuring review will run for one week. We will create the new project and make the required changes on September 29.
So... OpenHW PMC... we need any member of the PMC to approve proceeding by responding to this message with +1.
Thanks,
Wayne
