Dear Lukas,
as discussed, I send you and the involved partners some input about my person and the plans for the future
😊 Please let me know if you have any questions!
I am a project manager at the Mercedes-Benz AG (MB) and part of this project since June 2023 (i.e., before it was going Open-Source). Initially, the OpenDuT project was kick-started
by the large German public project SofDCar where my team and I were working on the underlying concepts. I am coordinating the project from the side of MB and the main part of development in OpenDuT is done by our colleagues from the Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation
(MBTI) in close collaboration with my department at MB (dailies/bi-weekly spring reviews etc.). At Mercedes-Benz, currently, we also have two PhD students working on topics that enhance OpenDuT in the area of test automation and latency minimalization. The
results of these thesis will be contributed to the Eclipse OpenDuT project.
As mentioned in the project lead application, we are currently planning to shift the coordinating activities for OpenDuT from MBTI (Johannes) towards the Mercedes-Benz AG, especially
since OpenDuT is part of some larger publicly funded projects that I am involved in.
Firstly, we further develop OpenDuT in the scope of the EU project HAL4SDV, which involves 50 partners of industry and academia (also including the Eclipse SDV). Secondly, the project
Shift2SDV (70 partners), which is currently being submitted in the EU. Hence, we are planning to contribute to the project intensely from the MB side over the next years and it would make sense to have an representant of MB in the project lead group.
Best regards,
Pascal

Betreff: Re: [opendut-dev] [automotive-pmc] PMC Approval required for Project Lead election for Pascal Hirmer on Eclipse openDuT
[**EXTERNAL E-MAIL**]
Dear all,
I am writing on behalf of the Eclipse Automotive PMC.
We have some concerns regarding the election for Pascal Hirmer as Project Lead on Eclipse openDuT [1], mainly due to:
1. the low number of voters (6 out of 22)
2. the lack of information regarding Pascal's OpenDuT related activity in his nomination (see also [2])
3. the lack of activity from Pascal in the repository (GitHub)
Since you discussed the nomination internally beforehand (acc. to the nomination note),
we would appreciate if you could share the respective meeting notes with us, thus helping us to plausibilise Pascal's nomination.
In general, we encourage you to implement Eclipse's Open, Transparent, and Meritocratic principle [3]
by making project content (such as the project related meetings and their content) publicly available.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused!
Best regards
Lukas
