[jakarta.ee-spec.committee] Review for approval: Spec Committee Meeting Minutes December 18th, 2019

The minutes for the December 18th Specification Committee call are below and are also available here. Please review and be ready for approval during our next call.

Past business / action items:

  • Approval of the minutes from the December 11th meeting was deferred to first meeting the new year.


Agenda

  • Next steps to get to ballot for Jakarta EE 9 Plan Review as required by the JESP.

    • The Jakarta EE 9 Release Plan is here.

      • [KWS] Need to post final Release Plan to the Platform Project website.

      • [KWS] Update the Plan to include an “item 0” that Component Release Plans need to be complete by Feb 1.

      • [KWS] Create an Eclipse Release Record for Jakarta EE 9 and provide a pointer to the Plan.

      • Once approved by Spec Committee publish Plan to many locations (jakarta.ee, community, blogs, etc)

      • Individual specification projects participating in the Jakarta EE 9 release must create release records for their participation. The release record must at a minimum, include the name of the version (e.g., “2.3”), the release date (2020-06-26), and a description that points to the Jakarta EE 9 Release Plan document. Other information can be provided on the plan page as required. This record can be updated by any project committer as needed (version number and date included). The Eclipse Foundation Project Handbook has more information.

      • Ballot to commence on January 6, 2020

  • Reminder: Spec Committee calls are going to biweekling in 2020. First call to be scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th.
