Re: [iot-pmc] Eclipse Account Email Addresses

I'm not sure how I feel about "sponsored by" information in README files... it feels like the wrong place for that sort of information.

Is this something that you've seen in other GitHub repositories? (I have a feeling that I've foreshadowed a "look in this other Eclipse project repo..." sort of response).

Okay, understood.

I don't know what you mean by a "sponsored by" logo on GitHub. Company logos and information can be displayed on project pages,

I guess just a logo, but on GitHub in the README in addition to the Eclipse project page.

Note that this all has nothing to do with the specific form of your email address. When an organization is a member of the Eclipse Foundation, we make an association between their committer employees and the organization in our database.

Right, two separate questions, only tangentially related.

To display a company logo:
  • The company must be a member of the Eclipse Foundation;
  • The company needs to have their logo uploaded to the Portal;
  • At least one committer has to be listed as an employee of the company in question;
  • The committer must be on this project; and
  • The committer must be active (must have made at least one commit in the last three months)

If your organization is interested in membership, start here: https://www.eclipse.org/membership/

So if I want to use both I need a second account for my work email address and an ECA on file for that address?

My employer is also asking about what it takes (membership?) to put a "sponsored by" logo on the GitHub repo.

You can change the email address associated with your account here:

That email addresses will become the one that you must use for commit credentials.

Is there a way I can also associate my work email address with my Eclipse account, or... whatever it takes so I can make commits some or all of the time from my work email address?
