Re: [glassfish-dev] Set next GlassFish version to be 6.2?

Hi,

Sure, we can do that. Sounds like a good idea.

Let's branch master to 6.2 and update master itself afterwards to 7.0.0-SNAPSHOT then.

Kind regards,
Arjan Tijms

Personally my goal is only driving forward major releases aligned with major Jakarta releases i.e. Jakarta EE 10.

My preference would be to move master to 7.0.0-SNAPSHOT and others in the project team with other goals can branch off major release tags and create maintenance and minor releases in the 6.x and 5.x streams if they wish.

Hi,

That’s all correct.

In 6.2.x I’d also like to look at putting Eclipse Exousia in (and remove the code it replaces).

We could look at an GF 7 branch soon, incorporating the milestone versions of the EE 10 components (such as Mojarra 4-M1).

Kind regards,

Arjan Tijms

+1

Just in case, let me check my understanding about GlassFish versions:

- Jakarta EE 9 compatible versions
  - GlassFish 6.0.X (EE 9)
  - GlassFish 6.1.X (EE 9.1)
  - (6.X later is EE 9.1 compatible)
- Jakarta EE 10 compatible versions
  - GlassFish 7.0.X

Did I get that right?

Regards,
Hiroki
