Re: [geomesa-users] GeoMesa HBase EMRFS

Hello,

Yes, you can. The tutorial you linked to uses EMRFS, and it's a great option for cost savings. In my experience, though, HBase on top of EMRFS can be somewhat delicate, so you should be comfortable with recovering WALs, EMRFS syncing, etc.

Thanks,

Emilio

Hey,

I am new to the GeoMesa project and saw an example in the documentation, where GeoMesa HBase was installed on Amazon EMR:

I am wondering, if it is possible to use EMRFS as an underlying storage.
That would allow me to shut down the EMR cluster but keep the ingested data alive.
I could simply restart the cluster and continue data analysis.

Thank you,
Martin
