Re: [gef-dev] Current State of GEF FX Project

It should be archived IMHO.

Best regards,

Hello everyone,

I had a look at the GEF FX repository the other day and I noticed that
the last commit was made by Ed back in 2024 [1]. Looking closer, Ed was
effectively the only contributor for the past few years, primarily
handling releng topics. Active development seems to have stalled
somewhere around 2022/2023. Additionally, the GEF FX contributions have
also been removed from the release train during 2025 [2]. So consumers
have to fall back to the specific update sites if they want to use it.

I wonder, is there still anyone out there actively using the FX variant
and who would be willing to adopt this project? Otherwise I propose to
archive this project until such as person arrives. Because the project
is still receiving issues [3], which don't get answered anymore and give
the false impression that the project is still actively being
maintained, even though it isn't.

What are your thoughts on this?

Many regards,

Patrick
