Hello everyone,
I had a look at the GEF FX repository the other day and I noticed that the last commit was made by Ed back in 2024 [1]. Looking closer, Ed was effectively the only contributor for the past few years, primarily handling releng topics. Active development seems to have stalled somewhere around 2022/2023. Additionally, the GEF FX contributions have also been removed from the release train during 2025 [2]. So consumers have to fall back to the specific update sites if they want to use it.
I wonder, is there still anyone out there actively using the FX variant and who would be willing to adopt this project? Otherwise I propose to archive this project until such as person arrives. Because the project is still receiving issues [3], which don't get answered anymore and give the false impression that the project is still actively being maintained, even though it isn't. 

What are your thoughts on this?
