It is an interesting trend in general, but hard to say which particular languages will actually gain traction. For example last year I remember buzz about Clojure but this year I see no talks on it. Anyway, I could say a lot more on this but I would really need a beer in front of me ;)

If that's a topic to talk about over a beer, I guess it's *very* interesting :-)

To me JVM languages are just like tools. 
The Java community needed hundreds of web frameworks and ORM mappers to finally distill a couple of very good ones.
