Hi Folks,

Since no one has posted anything else to the agenda for today, the ECF conference call for todayis canceled.   I've scheduled the next conference call for Monday, May 30 [1]

If anything comes up WRT ECF 3.5.1 (being built/released tomorrow 5/17/2011)...or any other pressing issue,  please bring them up on this mailing list.   If it turns out a conference call is required, we can schedule one for next week (i.e. 5/23/2011).

+1.

I'll help you out to test 3.5.1 release.

Ok, thanks.  There's not much time for further testing though...as I'm doing the final build tomorrow (5/17/2011) in the evening pacific time.

I've been doing some install and smoke testing using the latest release build output [1], which is available via the Eclipse Foundation here (this is a p2 repository URL).

I'll try installing the current stable build from here and run some smoke tests and report if I find any issues. Thanks a lot for the information.

Harshana

I've found one issue with the zookeeper discovery when running the examples [2].  It seems to be bundle state exception induced by the fact that the discovery provider launches a new thread to initialized the discovery provider...and sometimes for the new thread, the ECF core has not been fully started when the zookeeper discovery provider assumes it is.  I don't expect that we will be able to fix this prior to 3.5.1, so we'll have to fix it in subsequent releases.  In my tests the BundleStateException doesn't seem to prevent the example from actually working (i.e. the example works anyway), but I think it's possible that it would.

Hi Folks,

There's an ECF conference call scheduled for today (5/16/2011) in about 1.5 hours [1].  The only thing currently on the agenda is ECF 3.5.1 [2].  My intention is to do a final 3.5.1 release build tomorrow (5/17/2011 evening pacific time).

If you have something else for the agenda, or have some issues with the 3.5.1 release plans as I've articulated them, please put it on the wiki page [2] right away and respond to this email.  If nothing is added within an hour, I'm inclined to cancel the conference call today...as I don't think the 3.5.1 release planning alone needs a conference call.

Thanks,

Scott
