Hi Scott,
Hi Folks,
Since no one has posted anything else to the agenda for
today, the ECF conference call for todayis canceled. I've
scheduled the next conference call for Monday, May 30 [1]
If anything comes up WRT ECF 3.5.1 (being built/released
tomorrow 5/17/2011)...or any other pressing issue, please
bring them up on this mailing list. If it turns out a
conference call is required, we can schedule one for next
week (i.e. 5/23/2011).
+1.
I'll help you out to test 3.5.1 release.
Ok, thanks. There's not much time for further testing though...as
I'm doing the final build tomorrow (5/17/2011) in the evening
pacific time.
I've been doing some install and smoke testing using the latest
release build output [1], which is available via the Eclipse
Foundation here (this is a p2 repository URL).

I've found one issue with the zookeeper discovery when running the
examples [2]. It seems to be bundle state exception induced by the
fact that the discovery provider launches a new thread to
initialized the discovery provider...and sometimes for the new
thread, the ECF core has not been fully started when the zookeeper
discovery provider assumes it is. I don't expect that we will be
able to fix this prior to 3.5.1, so we'll have to fix it in
subsequent releases. In my tests the BundleStateException doesn't
seem to prevent the example from actually working (i.e. the example
works anyway), but I think it's possible that it would.
