The workflow API is a beast of its own. I think it’s best we focus on getting the basic API right first. It also allows us to get to a v1 faster.
Unfortunately, most people don’t pay any attention before there is an actual release with an implementation. As such, we are losing community traction already to the likes of Python. Getting a v1 out faster will matter I believe. On Mar 17, 2026, at 5:48 AM, Juan G <juangon@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
LGTM, when I read it I was worried it didn't have workflow support, but in the same documentation says it is something to be added later, so it's fine.

Just a gentle reminder that if there is no substantive discussion, I’d like to close this step by Friday so we can make progress. If you could kindly do an ACK that you have at least reviewed the material, I would highly appreciate it. It’s going to be much better in terms of arriving at a compelling API with at least the core committers getting things carefully looked at. Thanks! Hi folks,
Our next order of consensus is the current API proposal. The API actually contains detailed embedded Javadoc that defines quite a bit of the specification behavior already.
However, before starting the API review, it’s important that you actually review the broader context that is already available. So, can I kindly ask you to review the following over this week and next week?
Do you mind replying here with any follow up thoughts after you review the above? I’ll split into separate threads if necessary to keep discussion focused on specific areas. If everything looks good, especially from a v1 perspective, briefly indicating that is helpful as well. I know at least some folks are well familiar with the material already. After the discussion of the context winds down, I’ll attempt to start an actual API review thread hopefully followed by a vote to record committer consensus.
Onward!
