Re: [wtp-incubator-dev] Regarding <Del><BkSpc> keys not working

Just a reminder, Patches and contributions still need to go through bugzilla as an attachment. See http://wiki.eclipse.org/Git

Hi Florian,

thanks for updating the Wiki page.

Should we also provide a .psf file? There is still (read-only) CVS available which can be used to create patches. We could also support the new "Import from repository" feature instead or in addition to the .psf file. With Git contributions could also be done by using a public server like github to pull from. Maybe we should describe this option, too?

Best regards, Holger

Hello Kamal,

it's very nice to hear about your interest in Vex. Any contribution is
welcome. We are currently in the process of switching from CVS to Git,
so our Wiki page was a little outdated. I updated the guide:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/WTP/VisualEditorForXML/CommittersResources#Getting_the_Source

I hope this helps.

On your problem with the missing hint: there is already a bug filed for
this issue: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=315916
Please feel free to contribute your ideas or maybe even a patch for this
problem.

Best Regards,

Florian

Hi Florian & Holger,

I am Kamal, Technical Lead in eBay (India).

This mail is related to past thread on "the Delete/Backspace is not
working in Vex editor" by NS Gopikrishnan (he is part of my Team).

Today we debugged the code and found that the issue is due to the DTD
definition. One of the element is defined
as Empty and the editor is not deleting the text which is there inside
the element.

There is an exception which is getting thrown, saying the character
cannot be deleted. But i think it will be good if
we would propagate the error to the user screen with appropriate message
like "Text is not allowed in this Element".

Also we like to contribute to this project as we will be using this
extensively for our internal authoring format. In the
wiki, you have mentioned about team project set to set up the
workspace. But i am not able to find it anywhere. it
will make things easier for new comers.

we have already setup the workspace by importing the plugins from CVS,
Gopikrishnan is in the process of the
creating a detailed document on setting up the workspace so that it will
help other new contributors.

kamal
