Re: [wtp-dev] Questions on webtools.jsdt.debug repo...

Folks,

We are still following the CruiseControl build process, which is documented at http://wiki.eclipse.org/WTP_Git_Workflows in the Contributing to a build section.  Until we cut over to the CBI build (which will be, at the earliest, M6), you will need to do the same tagging and map file updates for both the WTP 3.5.2 and WTP 3.6 builds.  Simply committing something to master is not enough to get it into the CruiseControl (PDE) builds.

FWIW,

Hi Victor,

1. There is no maintenance branch because nothing has been back-ported. There should probably be a tag though so that master is not used as the 3.5.x build source.
There is an R3_5_0 tag:
http://git.eclipse.org/c/jsdt/webtools.jsdt.debug.git/tag/?id=R3_5_0  - I would also expect there to be R3_5_1 and R3_5_2

2. I assumed that building from master worked the same way as it does for the platform - that we do not need to tag anything ourselves. If that is not the case, which it appears you have found is not, then we will have to talk to Carl and find out what the process is.

Should they be included there (at least for master)?

Yes any commits in master should be built

Questions on webtools.jsdt.debug repo...

Michael, Thanh, Grand,

I have a couple of questions regarding webtools.jsdt.debug repo branches
and commits...

So, why we don't have R3_5_maintenance branch in this repo? Now it looks
like WTP 3.5.2 (current maintenance) and 3.6 (current development) are
built using the same master branch. Looks like a bug, isn't it?

And why few latest commits in master aren't included to the
webtools.maps/releng.jsdt/maps/wst-jsdt.map mapping? Should they be
included there (at least for master)?

Thanks in advance,
Victor
