Re: [udig-users] resolution lost on DRG

You are correct andrea; the functionality was intended more to handle a screen snap. If we wanted to edit a tiff file we would start to need specific tools (not a bad idea).

The part that confuses me here is where Don is adding labels (ie human readable) but also expecting to export the full resolution of the original tiff file. This does not really
make sense to me.

Don perhaps you could describe what you are trying to accomplish - are you preparing something to print out? Or are you trying to construct a large image which you will pan around in ...

Hi Don,

I have a DRG topo map. I added it as a raster layer. I then added a
postgis layer which plotted points and added labels. I then exported
the resulting map to another tiff file. When I view it and zoom in I
seem to have lost the resolution that the original tiff file had. How
do I fix this?

If you exported the map with the export enigine I think by default the
map is exported at screenshot resolution.
I think, but am not sure right now, that Jesse added also the
possibility to set the scale. If that is the case, by changing the
scale you should be able to gain higher resolution.
