Re: [udig-dev] Rendering Artifacts with Anti Aliasing
|
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Hi Andrea,
Unfortunately I am not allowed to share this data; and I have not yet
been able to reproduce it with data I can share. I will try a bit
harder on that today.
I think this is either a geotools or Java issue as I tried this using
just the geotools and saw the same effects (see attached). The
artifacts move as you zoom in/out and disappear entirely if you zoom in
far enough. If you extract out one geometry and render just that
geometry it is not a problem.

When I render a linear shapefile (moderate size; lots of overlapping
features) with anti-aliasing ON (render1.png) there is a collection of
horizontal line artifacts. When I turn anti-aliasing OFF (render2.png)
these disappear.
Is this expected? Can anyone tell me why this happens? For some reason I
think I've seen this before but I cannot find anything on it.
This is quite strange, can you supply a better zoom for this?
The left one doesn't look like having much antialiasing from the image.
Or can you share the dataset, I would give it a try.
Cheers,
Andrea
Thanks,
Emily
