As long as the SDK Quickstart works you should be okay; in your notes you do put things in different directories? Is that on purpose? As long as you get a good target configuration at the end you should be okay..

On mac I get:
/Users/jody/java/360/delta-pack 87 plug-ins available
/Users/jody/java/udig/udig_sdk 540 plug-ins available

What do you get?
