Re: [tm-dev] Legacy update sites are removed

I've merged your fix - thanks!

Also updated http://download.eclipse.org/tm/downloads/ to make it simpler and have the content maintained in just one place.

Not sure what to do about http://archive.eclipse.org/tm/downloads/ if anything. Links seem to work and it's ancient archived content.

If you have any more suggestions, let me know!

Hopefully I'll have time before M3 to switch the builds over so that both RSE and terminal are in the same reactor.

Thanks Nick.

A little update to website so that others can find the P2 repos and then I think this is done. I have done the one for the main website if you can review/submit it: https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/c/127053/ but there is duplicated and now out of date pages. I would simply remove them, or change them to point back to https://www.eclipse.org/tm/downloads.php rather than have the duplicate info:

Hehe, oops. Apparently I work for too many projects these days.

So, I've moved stuff around out of the OLD-STUFF folder

Recent releases (4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 milestones (there was never a final 4.3 release), and the stuff that's actually newer than 4.3 but which is downversioned to 3.7.100) are here:

Archived releases and pre-R milestones:

For the archived folders I couldn't move under the new R3.x folder, because perms are messed up, I've opened a BZ:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=537680

Anything else that needs organizing?

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the links. I think we are talking about different things though. I am asking about TM i.e. this p2 repo: http://download.eclipse.org/tm/updates/OLD-STUFF/3.6/ and all the other releases listed in https://www.eclipse.org/tm/downloads.php and http://download.eclipse.org/tm/downloads/.

Thanks,
Jonah

Latest supported builds (3.9+) are here:

Old, archived WTP builds (3.8-)  are here:

For 3.6 releases (from more than 3 years ago, unsupported):

Random patches, pre-Final builds on build.eclipse are so not supported. If you have to use them, just point at the folder you want under there:

You might also like this page, which lists the WTP repository URLs and CI job URLs, too:

Hope that helps,

Hi Nick,

Can you please restore all the old versions moved to OLD-STUFF or archive them please?

I am trying to build an old version of a product and my build now fails. (Specifically I needed 3.6 BTW)

Thanks

HI Nick,

I think it is best to restore all released versions? These are releases and should be preserved forever or archived to http://archive.eclipse.org/.

Thanks
Jonah

Done.

I'd moved it out into a subfolder, OLD-STUFF, to see if anyone was still using it. Congrats, you were!

Hi,

Some of the Eclipse Trace Compass build jobs for legacy versions fail because some update sites were moved at download.eclipse.org. Specifically, the build with Neon dependencies. Would it be possible to add back the 4.2 update site [1], so that we are able to build against Neon target. I understand Neon is quite old and soon Trace Compass will drop Neon support, but it would make our life easier if it is back.

Please let me know.

Thanks
Bernd
