Re: [tm-dev] Apache commons compress

Looks like a good library, but I don't think we'll be incorporating that into RSE in this release unless there is a compelling reason to support new formats. We'll keep it in mind for the future.

Hi TM committers,
Apache Commons Compress is available in Eclipse Orbit:
https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=6258
It provides an API for tar, zip, gzip but also bzip2, pack200, ar, cpio.
Would somebody want to get rid of the RSE home-grown zip and tar
implementations,
And replace it with using commons compress ?
Commons compress is currently used by Ecipse JGit, and the
Latest 1.4.1 version is currently under IP Review:

Thanks,
Martin
