you're certainly right in that naively applying patterns without  
considering their interrelations often leads to overly complex designs.
In our case, though, I don't feel that this is going to be a major  
problem. At the end of the day, the wizard we've been discussing is
just adding a bit more convenience for people who are not comfortable  
editing Spring XML config files directly.

I agree that for creating complex composite services one should first  
think about a proper architecture or consider orchestration solutions,  
e.g. a BPEL engine.
