Re: [sumo-user] Speeds in Curves

SUMO doesn't consider speeds along edges by default. The easiest solution is to split the edge before and after the curve and set a lower road speed limit for the curved edge.
Alternatively, you can define a waypoint for each vehicle passing the curve that sets a lower speed for passing. This avoids splitting but requires more work on the input.

Note: speed is automatically lowered for curved internal junctions.

Good morning!

I would like to check if SUMO has any speed restrictions for curved sections. We have a winding section where we would like to incorporate a speed reduction.

Our speed measurements were on straight sections, but one of the points was near a curve where we felt there might be speed reductions.

Watching the simulations in by-speed vehicle mode, we see that there is no significant speed reduction, so we would like to add some parameter that would reduce speeds.

Thank you in advance for your attention.
