[sumo-user] WG: AW: SUMO 1.2.0 released

Well, I can only speak for Windows OS as I don't know the others too much. You can keep multiple SUMO versions in separate directories without any problems.

Just pay attention to update the %SUMO_HOME% env. var. (e.g. using the system control panel) to the base path of the version you really want to use. This ensures you use the right TraCI interface and makes life easier in some aspects:

  • You can keep shortcuts to the executables if the path mentioned there includes %SUMO_HOME%
  • By adding %SUMO_HOME% to the %PATH% env. var, sumo/netedit etc. commands are recognized on the command line

How can I update the existing Sumo software installed without having to remove the older version from PC?
