Re: [sumo-user] Error for pedestrian crossing

Thank you so much for your quick reply!
I checked the edge that you mentioned. It works well :)
I think I checked all.. I didn't.
I will check others based on your explanation including pedestrian islands.

Have a good day!

Hello,
in your network, edge EC allows all vehicle class including pedestrians (allow="all"). For that reason a crossing cannot build built at that edge.
It works for edges WC & CW because they disallow pedestrians.
To fix it, use the inspect mode of netedit, click on edge EC and then click on the 'allow' button and then uncheck pedestrians.

I suspect that similar problems exist in other networks that you tried to use.

Jakob

Dear Jakob Erdmann

As I told you, I created the same network to pedcrossing example (SUMO tutorial).
Still I have an issue.. not activated pedestrian crossing. I attached the pic (left pink is mine, right white is the given example) and my network file.
If I chose EC & CE edges for crossing, it didn't work. I got the error message.

Warning: Invalid pedestrian topology: crossing .... has no target

However, if I chose WC & CW edges, it works.

In the tutorial file, both ways work. In other similar network that I created, both ways didn't work.
Only, when I add another sidewalk to the existing edge, it works.
I wonder if I did wrong or it is from unexpected error in the program.
If I made any mistake, please tell me.

I am looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,
 Sunghyun Jang

Please ensure that pedestrians are forbidden on road lanes. Otherwise they will ignore the crossings.

Dear Jakob Erdmann

I created sidewalks for pedestrians like the sumo example of pedcrossing. They are connected to the junction that pedcrossing was installed. In case that adding sidewalks to the exsiting edge works..but separated sidewalks didnt work. That is the reason why I asked you.

Above all, I am trying to build a network with ped islands between opposite direction edges. I just made some space between two edges and installed a crossing for each edge. They are connected in the junction. But the problem is that pedestrians ignore signal and cross junctions.

Pedestrian was created by <person id, depart..> <walk edges="edge ids"> etc.

I hope you understand what I am saying. If you need net and config file, later I can send it.

Sunghyun Jang

The 'has no target error' is proably due to a lack of sidewalks that would connect to the crossing. Please see http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Simulation/Pedestrians#Building_a_network_for_pedestrian_simulation

Dear Sumo User

I am creating a simple network and install pedestrian crossing.

Even if I checked the priority in pedestrian crossing, it didn't activate with only red color. And I got the message the following.

"Warning: Invalid pedestrian topology: crossing ':1_c0' has no target."

I am struggling with the issue for a whole day.

Before, I didn't get it with pedestrian crossing. I tried different networks.. it is the same only except for the old network files that I created before.

Could you explain what is the reason? I saw your old post for the same message and bug. But there is no proper explanation.

I am looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,
 Sunghyun Jang
