[sumo-announce] SUMO Conference 2018: Call for Papers

Dear friends and users,

we are glad to announce the next SUMO User Conference 2018.We would be happy if you consider a contribution, please find the Call for Papers below.

Hope to see you at the conference,

Laura and the SUMO Team

SUMO User Conference 2018 - Simulating Autonomous and Intermodal Transport Systems (14. - 16. May 2018)

Introduction

Traffic simulations are of immense importance for researchers as well as practitioners in the field of transportation. SUMO has been available since 2001 and provides a wide range of traffic planning and simulation applications. SUMO consists of a suite of tools covering road network imports and enrichment, demand generation and assignment and a state-of-the-art microscopic traffic simulation capable to simulate private and public transport modes, as well as person-based trip chains. Being open source, SUMO is ready to implement new behavioral models or to control the simulation remotely using various programming environments. These and other features make SUMO one of the most often used open source traffic simulations with a large and international user community.

Call for Papers

The conference aims on presenting new and unique results in the field of mobility simulation and modelling using openly available tools and data. We expect a large variety of research topics and usage approaches. If you are doing a research project fitting the topics below you are kindly invited to submit an abstract. Possible areas of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Intermodal Transport
  • Logistics Simulation
  • Mobility Modelling
  • Traffic Simulation
  • Traffic Applications
  • Traffic Management Solutions
  • Vehicular Communication
  • Modelling Urban Mobility
  • Open Tools and Open Data
  • E-Mobility
  • Autonomous Driving

Authors are requested to register at Easy Chair  https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sumo2018  and submit the title of the paper and an abstract of 300 words (highly recommended, but not mandatory) or a topic for posters in English no later than Friday, 19th of January 2018.

All accepted papers will be published in the SUMO proceedings of the DLR Institute of Transportation Systems.

Deadline

The full paper versions of papers must be submitted in LaTeX or Word and PDF format before midnight, Friday, 25th of February 2018. Submitters will receive feedback by Friday, 25th of March 2018.
