[stellation-res] Another TClient Server Update
|
I've tracked down the authentication failure mentioned in my last note.
It was indirectly due to a bug in the tclient code that allowed two distinct
repository Handles to coexist under unusual circumstances (i.e. populate
an Eclipse workspace via JUnit testing, then create/share a new project
manually in the same workspace). The full details are given in Bugzilla
#58386
if you're curious.
The bugfix is straightforward. If there are no further problems, I will
reconfigure the
server to use the regular "stelhost" database, do a bit more testing, start
using the TClient for ongoing WVCM work, and make the TClient available to
committers
for their own work on Stellation and WVCM. (Then, of course, I expect
we'll find
a few more things to fix...).
The TClient itself is already packaged as an installable Eclipse 'Feature',
and I have successfully installed it from an update site on
stellation.eclipse.org. The TClient includes a modest (but hopefully
sufficient) online help document, which is also available separately; I'll
post it on the Wiki soon. Once I've finished testing with the 'stelhost'
database,
I will post zips of the TClient and server code on the wiki, and make the
Feature update site generally accessible. (Please note that the TClient is
still intended for use by committers only; this is a 'T'-for-transitional
client, and we would rather focus resources on developing WVCM than on
supporting more general use of the TClient. Of course, anyone is welcome to
look at or use the TClient code, per the CPL.)
