Jonathan,

Glad you haven't had problems.

This is interesting. I am using Sun Java 1.4.2 at home on Windows XP and
Eclipse 3.0 M3. I have experienced no JVM related problems whatsoever,
either with Eclipse or Stellation. At work I use Sun Java 1.4.1_02 with
Eclipse 3.0 M3 on Windows XP as my sole development environment and again I
experienced no problems (obviously I have not been able to use Stellation in
that environment.

On Windows XP, make sure you have applied service pack 1a and have then
upgraded on top of that from the Windows Update Site.

When I installed XP, I used an internal IBM channel that is supposed to install
fully up to date versions. However, Control Panel -> System Properties only
shows SP 1 (rather than 1A). I _did_ upgrade everything using Windows Update,
post install. I'll look into SP 1A (if necessary) on my return.

I've been using the IBM JVMS for quite a while, on
both Windows and Linux. I haven't yet tried the SUN JVMs, but will once I'm back
at Watson with a highspeed connection.
FWIW, the Eclipse R3 plan shows testing (on both Windows and Linux) with both
IBM and SUN JVMs (1.4.0/1.4.1, depending on platform).
