Yep.  No exceptions being thrown or anything obviously wrong.  It's
just odd that it failed to authenticate.

Okay, sounds good.  I think I forgot to include the setup I'm using,
though much of it is apparent from the logs.  I'm running on a Redhat
7.3 installation with Postgres 7.2 installed.  Both the tests and the
server were on the same machine, but I was running the remote tests.
