Could you check that you can compile Eclipse stuff without this jar? If
so, we can
delete the entry for postgres jar from the downloads section.
Dave,
I just checked building and running the Eclipse client.
The Eclipse client can build without the Postgres JDBC driver jar on the
classpath.
However, I do most of my testing with a local PostgreSQL database hosting the
Stellation repo, and others probably do as well.
Under these circumstances, the Eclipse client will not _run_ without having
the Postgres JDBC driver (jar) on the runtime classpath; the easiest way to
do this is to wrap the JDBC driver inside an Eclipse library-only plugin
(org.postgresql) and to specify that plugin as a required plugin for the
...stellation.scm.model plugin.
So, the org.postgresql plugin needs to remain part of the "Installable
Eclipse Feature" package. I think we might as well leave the PostgreSQL
JDBC Driver available as an "Individual Library" jar file on the Downloads
page; it may be useful for others working on Stellation plugins (althrough
they could also get the jar by downloading/installing the Feature package).
