Hi all,
Please find the meeting notes from this week’s Sparkplug Spec Project Team Meeting below.
Sparkplug Spec Project Team Meeting – Meeting Notes – 11 Jan 2022
- Attendees
- Bryce Nakatani
- Chad Kienle
- Frederic Desbiens
- Ian Craggs
- Ilya Binshtok
- Josh Wolf
- Mitchell McPartland
- Nathan Davenport
- Travis Cox
- Wes Johnson
- GDrive link to the latest version of the spec posted on Slack. Please review and provide feedback.
- Spec is close to completion...
- Need Tahu and TCK help... please feel free to contribute if/when you can
- Tahu: need to make up a list of remaining work via github issues [Wes]
- TCK: need to make up a list of remaining work via github issues [Ian C.]
- With the above tasks completed, we should be able to come up with a more realistic release date
- Assertions should be added to describe required ordering of specific SP messages (e.g., Birth before Death, etc.)
- Should be in the Operational Order section?
- DBIRTHs do not need to directly follow the NBIRTH... it can come in “late”
- Wes to add an assertion around this
- How to cover these less “testable” assertions in the TCK?
- How do we cover SparkplugId uniqueness in the TCK?
- What about CMD metrics needing to be in the previous BIRTH?
- Ian has written some “analyzer” tooling around the above assertions that can be plugged into an existing SP environment to flag these types of issues. Pretty cool Ian! Two
versions...
- HiveMQ Plugin version
- Generic version (not requiring MQTT Server plugin capabilities)
Thanks,
Nathan
