On April 22/2013, Google will open the student application process. At that time, you should be ready to submit a darned good project proposal. You should use the time between now and then to gather the information that you need to impress us in that proposal.

Please use this list to ask any questions that you have regarding participation in the the GSoC. The GSoC site itself is a good source of answers, so please look there before you ask us to do it for you (e.g. the timeline link on the GSoC site will answer all of your date questions; don't ask them here).

If an idea includes a link or reference for where to ask questions, use that link.

Some ideas provide a bug reference. If you're interested in the idea, read all of the comments on the bug. Ask technical questions there. Bear in mind that the people who monitor the bugs do not necessarily participate in GSoC: don't ask GSoC-specific questions on bugs.

If the idea doesn't have specific contact information, your questions here on this list.
