Re: [soa-users] Installing SCA plugin
|
Hi, Vincent
Thanks for the update and instruction.
Yes, basically, I need to test/use your plugins. I don't need to release it, for now.
(I may need it in future)
as you instructed, I was able to launch runtime-workspace to test plugins.
But, then, I got another question.
I checked in all source trees under trunk.
There are lots of plugins. I thought, there is one main plugin. but maybe not.
how can I make it work with plugin source? I mean, follow the instruction in plugin-enabled runtime workspace, without installing from your update sites.
is there plugin like main method? or should I install the whole plugin through update site?
Thanks, in advance, again.

Hi Jinhwan,
looked for site.xml file under trunk/update-site, but I don't
see the file
You are right. I changed the build and I indeed removed this file
few days ago.
I had completely forgotten to update this page but it is now fixed.
By the way, are you trying to build the tooling for deployment or to
test modifications?
Build is only useful to release and/or to provide an update site for
other users.
If you just want to test the plug-ins, you can open any plugin.xml
file and click one of the icons in the top right corner (there must
be some kind of menu associated with the icon - select "Debug as an
Eclipse application"). It will create another workbench (a new
Eclipse instance) in which the SCA plug-ins will run.
we want to extend it by adding more quality
model to service and validation process after composing the
services
The validation mechanism is extensible. You can add your own one if
you want.
You can take a look at the way it is done in the plug-in
*.sca1_0.common (the extension is registered in the plugin.xml
file).
And if you feel your modifications could benefit to all, feel free
to propose patches in our bugzilla.
Regards,
Vincent.

Thanks for the info, Vincent.
I was also trying to build from svn trunk.
Is there any other instruction that I can follow to build the
plugin by myself?
btw, I'd like to use SCA tools for my research at Univ. of
California, Irvine.
Basically, what I am trying to do is, utilize SCA tool to
compose the service, however, we want to extend it by adding
more quality model to service and validation process after
composing the services.
that's why I want to try to build it manually. I am very new
to eclipse plugins development.
so, I apologize about my lack of knowledge to build the tool.
some question may be too stupid. =)
Thanks,
Jinhwan

Hi,
The last official version of SCA Tools can be installed
from the Helios update site [0].
And snapshot versions can be found on this page [1].
The installation process is the usual one in Eclipse:

Hello,
I am new to use SCA tools in eclipse.
I looked through the whole web site and wiki
page to install it, but I couldn't find plugin
installation site(url).
But, it doesn't work. Maybe I did something
wrong??
Does anyone know where I can easily install SCA
plugin into Eclipse?
Thanks in advance!
Jinhwan
