Gents,
we are debating for a
while (more than year now) to rename our project/group from
SOA
to something else. Not
because we think SOA is invalid as such, just because SOA as
a term is perceived outdated in the community and possibly
is only covering parts of what we are doing (depending on
how you define SOA).
We had another round of
discussions and brainstorming here at EclipseCon 2014 in San
Francisco and are proposing to rename the project to
Enterprise Technologies
which is really what we
are doing. Plus, the abbreviation (ET) is kinda cute …
I would like to ask you
to vote on it quickly, because if we agree the closing panel
tomorrow might be an excellent opportunity to announce that
change.
Once we have agreed on a
name, we would start to maintain the corresponding Wiki page
etc.
