We are writing to inform you that the nomination phase to elect the following representatives on the SDV Functional Safety Committee has been extended until the end of the day Thursday, June 18, 2026.
Kindly submit your nominations prior to the closing period. Self nominations are welcome.
The Software Defined Vehicle Working Group has approved the creation of a Functional Safety Committee. As a result, it's time to hold annual elections to fill the Participant
(2) and Committer Member (1) seats. A reminder, Strategic Members are appointed to the Committee.
Through this email, we are announcing the Eclipse Foundation will hold elections on behalf of the working group using the proposed timetable listed below:
Elections Schedule:
June 1 - 11: Call for Nominations
June 15: Announce Candidates Standing
June 17 - 26: Ballots Distributed (Voting Period)
June 30: Announce Election Results
Nomination Eligibility
Participant Members
All individuals who are employed by an organisation that is a Participant member of the working group may stand for election. The current Participant Members of the SDV
Working Group can be viewed here.
Committer Members
Committer Members are those who are engaged in projects under the purview of the working group. Committers may be considered members by virtue of either a) being employed
by a working group corporate member, or b) an individual committer who has executed the Eclipse Foundation Membership Agreement in order to attain the rights, privileges and obligations of a
Committer Member. If you are interested but unsure if you are a committer member, please reach out to us and/or learn more
here.
Nomination Process
Nominations can be made by any member of SDV (including self-nominations) by sending an email to this mailing list.
-
Nominees are strongly encouraged to include a short bio highlighting their relevant experience.
-
If you are nominating someone else, please confirm that they are willing to stand for election.
Note; Each Member may have at most one individual stand for election to any particular committee.
Election Process
-
After the nomination period closes, the list of candidates will be confirmed and announced.
-
Ballots will then be distributed to all Participant Member Organizations via email (one ballot per organization) and to Committer Members of projects within the purview of SDV.
-
The election will follow the Eclipse Foundation's "Single Transferable Vote" method, as outlined in the
Eclipse
Foundation Bylaws.
-
The winning candidates will be announced on this mailing list after the voting period closes.
Call to Action
We encourage all Participant and Committer Members to actively participate in this election process by nominating qualified candidates or standing for election themselves. Your
involvement is crucial in shaping the strategic future SDV.
Additional Information
Thank you for your support and participation. We look forward to a successful election!
Best Regards,
