| RE: [rt-pmc] EclipseLink 1.2.0 Release Review Approval |
Mark,

Thanks
for taking the time to review.

We do
not do any testing in JME. I will adjust the slides to reflect JavaEE, JavaSE,
and OSGi for the public review.

The
2.0 release was planned for our fall release aligning with delivering the JPA
2.0 implementation as part of the overall Java EE 6.0 reference implementation.
Unfortunately the Java EE 6.0 schedule has slipped and is now targeted at
November 24th. We had several key consumers/distributors looking for an earlier
release in the fall requiring patches and many of the enhancements in the MOXy
and DBWS components. To meet this request we added the 1.2.0 release which will
also offer the JPA 2.0 community a chance to preview the near-final
implementation and get any final feedback to the expert group before the
specification becomes final. Its unfortunate the dates are so close together but
after reviewing all of the presented requirements and schedules this was the
best solution.

I reviewed the
charts and give +1 for the PMC. I do have a couple questions though...

Page 2 of the review charts: It says will
run in any Java Environment, but JME is not listed. Will it run in JME CLDC or
  CDC?
Why ware the 1.2 and 2.0 releases
  so close together?

RT PMC,

We have been busy preparing an EclipseLink release to coincide with the
latest draft of the JPA 2.0 specification. This is combination with major new
functionality in the MOXy component around JAXB 2.1 and externalized metadata
makes this an import release for the EclipseLink community.

Please find attached our
release review slides and a snapshot of the IPLog now that all pending CQs for
  this release are resolved.

Can you please grant a quick +1 so we can proceed with the
  release review and delivery.
