Re: [platform-update-dev] Completing the Install Endlessly
|
You are right. It is the splash screen. I took ours out so that the Eclipse
one would come up by default. Is it worth entering an enhancement request
that you do that when a feature does not provide its own splash.bmp? Or
does this suggestion not make sense?
Thanks again,

I recommend reading the article from Eclipse.org about customizing your
product. It seems to me that Eclipse cannot find the primary feature or
your primary feature does not have a product splash screen.
Another example would be 'Alpha Soup' test described in Update test
scenarios. You can install Alpha features using test scenarios available
from Development Resources page of Platform Update on Eclipse.org.

[platform-update-dev] Completing the Install Endlessly

platform-update-dev
I have built an InstallShield installer that installs:
the files from RC2 with install.ini replace by a copy that specifies my
feature as
feature.default.id=com.amzi.prolog
a Java 1.4 JRE in the eclipse/jre subdirectory
my feature and plugins in their respective directories
I do not run eclipse before packaging all these files up, so there is no
workspace directory.
My shortcut starts eclipse.exe in the eclipse directory.
Everytime Eclipse is started is says completing the install.
Any ideas as to what is wrong? Or how to debug this problem?
Thanks,
Mary Kroening
