I think it's OK to post your theory on the CNF code here, and thank
you for debugging that far :-)

I would open a bug at
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Platform&component=UI
with the same information (developers definitely read the list, but
bugs make sure we don't forget and the correct person can have a look
at the problem).
