The "split lines" are not part of the mockup. Those are the Icons I'm
currently using, and thus got captured.
OT, but I noticed if I used bigger Icons like 20x20, the Toolbar would not
accomodate them, but shrink them instead.
Also, perspective Icons are optionaly, but I think that given the amount of
available horizontal space, they could be shown (dynamically even). Did
you notice that with the tabs-on-top orientation, the icon ONLY shows up on
the Tab, because I removed the original ICON+Label that was there. I found
it redundant since the Tab was already displaying the label anyway.
The **MOST** important difference IMO was the border around the tabs, and
the BG and FG colors on the inactive tabs. Not the icons. What were
people's opinions regarding the borders?

This looks very pretty. The tab colouring looks great. I'm concerned
about the tab icons taking extra space though, although they are a good
cue and it's a good idea to always be consistent in showing icons for an
object when one is available.
I'd prefer the perspective icons to not have the "split lines" in front.
It gives a sort of disjoint / dissociative personality disorder feeling,
like some kind of Hitchcock movie or something <g>.
I agree that the current perspective icons are too similar though. Just
having the basic icon (e.g. bug or J-in-a-box) without the lines would be
fine IMO.
