After those comments Andrey never resumed providing feedback or looking at alternative options. FWIW, the comments also needs a third opinion because I am not familiar with the design and the suggested approach wouldn't fix the issue we are seeing for our Ubuntu users. I pinged Alexander and also added him to the review but he seems to be busy and unable to respond. 

 

Is there any other SWT committer available to get involved? This experience is a bit frustrating.

Greetings Platform Developers,

I'd like to request some attention on:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=571746

It didn't make it into 2021-03. It would be critical to have in 2021-06. This is causing a deadlock issue on Ubuntu with Code Assist due to a race condition. I have a workaround provided as Gerrit patch.
