I'm chasing a similar bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=65915, Please append your findings there.

Look in the log and see if you get this error message: RuntimeException: Application <AppName> not found in registry.

Suggest we move this discussion into the bugzilla report and or platform-core-dev.
