Gary,

        The
linux builds are used by eclipse developers every day and you should definitely

not have to kill eclipse from the command
line multiple times a day and reinstall a fresh eclipse 
every few days. You are much more patient
that I would ever be!


You mentioned three defect reports:
41060,42415,43950 and several other
symptoms.

Both the UI and SWT teams have tried
without success to recreate the defect that you are reporting. 
You have been very helpful in trying
new builds and jdk's to help isolate this problem. It would really 
help us if you could isolate a repeatable
testcase and update this bugzilla report.

The update team has a proposed fix to
this problem and we will be running with the code for a while before
we release it to an integration build.
 The fix is too risky to put into today's milestone.

For the other symptoms you refer to
in your note, at first glance there appear to be some related
problems (keybindings not working) mixed
in with failures that do not seem to be related (e.g. CVS checkin). 
You can help us resolve these problems
by continuing to enter defect reports and if possible, providing steps
to recreate the problem.
