I just realized we discussed this in person but I never officially replied.

We have a pretty extensive Photran Developer's Guide (56-page PDF)
posted at http://www.eclipse.org/photran/contributorinfo.php

There are some things that aren't documented (yet) as well.  For
example, one project allows Photran's parser and cross-reference
database to be used from command-line Java projects.
