Pierre, Pau, myself, plus a few others I've forgotten, have dived into clearing the backlog of issues and PRs for Paho-Python this summer. I think we've made lots of great progress. Many thanks you guys
However, recently there have been 2 or 3 PRs raised that are clearly AI generated. The burden of reading slop is so so much higher than reviewing issues from real users.
Is everyone else OK with this (or is it just me?! ;-) ). I'm not mistaking inter-language or translation tools, for AI-slop (they usually don't run our workflows, so the contributions aren't even publicly tested until requested)?
Personally, I'm not convinced AI generated submissions can possibly be allowed under the Eclipse CLA:
- You will only Submit Contributions where You have authored 100% of the content.
If we're not OK with this, should we add some clear guidance to say these contributions are not allowed?
What are other Eclipse projects seeing and doing? I'm concerned that in 6 months time, everything from genuine users and contributers will be buried.
