I understand your approcach. I am glad we agree on "mqtt" as module name. It sounds more Lua friendly.I'm equally a newcomer to Lua. If you think that the library name should be "mqtt" to match Lua conventions, then I'm fine with that. I was just going on the approach we had adopted for the other clients.
I just logged in gerrit with my regular Eclipse commiter account.
First gerrit login seems to bootstrap everything.

You might try again, I think we are all set.
I misunderstood and giving it a second thought it could be nice to track Lua client compliance with MQTT 3.1.1.
