We still need to do more:

- top level pom with metadata
- update client jar pom
- publish to Maven Central
- get Eclipse view to use Mavenised Jar and setup auto builds.

Thanks very much to Al especially for his work on this, and to the
contributors who have submitted patches we have been building off.
