Re: [p2-dev] error while loading a remote repository using IMetadataRepositoryManager

Hi Scott,

Thanks a lot for the valuable insight.
We too believe it's better to go forward with the httpclient provider.
We are using maven to build our product and I was looking for the latest maven artifact of org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient. I see that Eclipse Indigo uses org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient_4.0.0.v20110531-2218 but I could only find the 1.0.0-v20070627-1030 version at [1].

Can anybody point me to the latest stable version of org.eclipse.ecf.provider.filetransfer.httpclient binary or the maven artifact?

Thanks,
Dileepa

One other thought:  I see from your bundles list that you are *not*
using the apache httpclient-based provider (missing the
org.apache.httpclient and other bundles).  This means that ECF will use
the jre/urlconnection based provider.

This is/should be fine...but just fyi Eclipse/p2 uses the httpclient
provider...as we jointly deemed it more reliable (although admittedly
the problems were with previous/older versions of JRE).  In any case,
the httpclient provider has received much more distribution and testing
than the JRE provider.
