| [p2-dev] RC2 testing - some UI issues |
hi, everyone.
I will be enjoying a Memorial Day holiday in the US on Monday during the first day of the RC2 test pass. The UI test plan [1] is still valid, but I wanted to alert you to some specific area where we've seen problems but can't consistently reproduce them. I would appreciate it if you could spend some cycles on beating up on the "Works With" combo in the Install New Software wizard, as well as trying a bunch of different combinations in the install and update wizards, especially those that result in a resolution error and require you to go back and try something different.
In particular we're seeing some oddities involving repos that should be valid, but are having problems during the load.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=276884 involves a site that gets added but seems to die quietly during the load, leaving the wizard without the site.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=277325 involves a false "not found" error with the I-build site, and may only involve large composite repos, but we aren't sure yet....
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=277554 involves some funky page behavior in the update wizard. Today I also saw some oddities in the update wizard but I'm on a slightly older build.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=277265 involves a failure to accept licenses in the wizard, but I suspect/hope it's a Mac-only issue in SWT.
Any head start you could give me on figuring out how common and severe these issues are would be helpful.
