Re: [ospo.zone] OSPO Alliance collaboration infrastructure
|
Hello,
I would welcome all those changes as it would further strengthen
the "OSPO Alliance" brand and ensure ownership of our working
tools and data.
Choosing OpenCloud as the hosting platform is nice too, but we
must ensure it gets the proper credit (at a least a mention in
every page and document as a supporter or sponsor of the OA).
- BigBlueButton, bbb.opencloud.lu is fine, better still if we
could have under our domain (even if it was just a CNAME) bbb.ospo-alliance.org
- discourse.ospo-alliance.org
- videos.ospo-alliance.org
- pads.ospo-alliance.org
- git.ospo-alliance.org (preferably with Forgejo ou SourceHut)
using ci.ospo-alliance.org for the automation, if not included
in the forge
- hq.ospo-alliance.org for the Univention portal
It could be interesting to have instances for mastodon/pletora as
publish-only information feeds in to the Fediverse (no real users
just a way to replicate the news and announcements from the site).
Further down the line, if you want to keep running working
groups, we should consider having our won instance of a
chat+pad+video platform (either matrix, rocket.chat, mattermost,
zulip, etc.).

Hi,
Equally enthusiastic on the overall approach ; It's just a short-term pain with huge longer term benefits.
I would have one reserve however for the Gitea instance - appart from a few huge open source communities, it does not look common to me to host code outside of
GitHub.com or GitLab.com - and doing so puts us a bit appart, and make forking the project less of an instant action.
If we want to go independant from the Eclipe/OW2 instances, I would rather move to GitLab.com
