Re: [openj9-dev] Arm Developer Program ‘OpenJ9’ Logo Request

Thanks for clarifying that, Mike. We should have guessed that the request should have been forwarded to the EF.

I'm glad it still worked out!

All,

I hate being the pedant in the room, but strictly speaking “OpenJ9” is a trademark owned by the Eclipse Foundation.

Good news: permission granted!

Hi Manisha,

First a big thank you to the Works on Arm program for supporting OpenJ9!

As requested,
“OpenJ9 hereby provides Arm with express, prior written consent for Arm to use OpenJ9’s word and design marks in connection with the developer.arm.com website”.

We don't have official license guidelines at the moment but take a bit of a "golden rule" approach - treat our logo the way you'd want your logo treated.  We'll eventually develop logo guidelines but in the meantime, please proceed with using the logo on your website.

Thanks!

We would like to display the ‘OpenJ9’ logo on the projects webpage and would like to request your consent for the same.

You can give your consent by replying to this email with the below sentence:

“OpenJ9 hereby provides Arm with express, prior written consent for Arm to use OpenJ9’s word and design marks in connection with the developer.arm.com website”

We plan to use the logo at  https://github.com/eclipse-openj9/openj9/blob/master/artwork/OpenJ9.svg. Thanks to @Dan Heidinga for help. Please let us know if that is Ok.

Also, please share the logo guidelines, if any, for appropriately publishing it on the WoA webpage.

Hello and apologies for delay in responding; our office was closed last week.

The OpenJ9 project team manages the project's logo.  If you cannot find the logo in the format you require on the project's website, we recommend you contact the project directly here.
