Eclipse Foundation Working Groups hold annual elections to select committee representation for elected positions as defined by working group charters.
The
Oniro Working Group Charter defines three committees -the Steering Committee, the Marketing & Brand Committee, and the Specification Committee- with elected positions for Gold, Silver and Committer (1) Members. Strategic Members are appointed representatives; so they do not participate.
As a reminder, please note that the Specification Committee is not yet operational, and the Steering Committee is fulfilling the responsibilities of the Marketing & Brand Committee. Also, the Steering Committee is planning to take on the Specification Committee's interim role until the project grows to a point where a dedicated one is necessary. This requires passing a resolution during our upcoming meeting, scheduled for March, 5th. Consequently, the WG will not hold elections for the Specification Committee in April.
While the current Strategic member is appointed, the elected positions are to fill one seat at the Silver and Committer member levels on the Steering Committee.
The Call for Nominations will be announced in early April. These elected positions are a vitally important part of the working group’s governance, so we encourage members of these classes to consider participating.
