Re: [mvc-dev] MVC support in Glassfish 7
|
Hi,
At the time it was causing OSGi problems. It’s a while but I think it was about being pinned (in OSGi) to specific versions of CDI and crashing when a higher one was present.
If the current releases are compatible again we will of course put it back, which was always the intention before releasing 7.0 final.
Kind regards,
Arjan Tijms

Why did they take it out? MVC 2.0 is compatible with EE 10, so there should be no reason to disable it unless it for some reason causes problems with the TCK runs...
We can go forward with 2.1. All components we depend on are released to maven central, so we can just adjust the versions (e.g. Jakarta REST 3.1, CDI 4.0, etc...)
Jakarta EE 10 is scheduled to be released on June 23 (and to be announced marketing-wise June 28)

Hi all,
I just saw that MVC + Krazo have been removed from the current Glassfish snapshots:
The comment is: "TMP disable until EE 10 versions"
This makes we wonder: Do we see any chance to get MVC 2.1 out before Jakarta EE 10? To be honest, I'm not sure about the current schedule for EE10.
Otherwise, from my point of view, we should tell the Glassfish team that we want to go with MVC 2.0 for Glassfish 7.0. Isn't MVC 2.0 "compatible" with Jakarta EE 10 or is there anything we have to do?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
Christian
